be aware of american blinker fluid
Another PO slap in the face.... this is the blinker from my 1999 porsche 996. I was having issue with the rate of blink on my turn signals but only on the drivers side and when the 4-ways where on.
Well tonight I got a chance to dig in to this an here is what I found.
I say it time and time again. Much like american antifreeze that will actually break down the german rubber and plastic, So will the american blinker fluid.
You can tell its the american product due to the fact it is clear. (german is a blood red) Well the PO along with his great cheapness and wizdom, like he did the anti freeze ran his little butt to pep boys and they gave him american BF. It appears it has broken down the seal in this side and it has leaked into the lens.
I do hope I am in time to save the rest of the housings. at $689.00 each this could add up fast.
So anyway.. I am off to the dealer (70 miles away) for some blinktosin.... Does anyone know how many oz it takes? at 12$ an oz I dont want to buy more than I need. Anyone have any tips on filling it.?.
Draining it was a real bitch. Remove the bumper cover and it was still hard to get to..... I made the tool for the plug out of some popsickly sticks.. Worked great

I was actually re-fitting my front bumber cover. I am not happy with the fit ever since I replaced the horns. When I removed my head lamps I saw one of my tri angle corners are cracked.... and taking on Bio degradable blinker fluid.
I couldnt help but to think how great a blinker fluid write up it would make. Complete with pictures for proof.
