I posted below a few days ago, but apparently it posted to the "next thread below this one" for some reason -- reposting again to make sure anyone having this issue is doing this very IMPORTANT step along the way....

Sorry if this was covered (I quickly scanned the thread), but on my car it only works if you have the rear view mirror switch (the one on the door that controls which mirror you want to adjust) flipped a certain way. I can’t recall which activates it, but if it doesn’t work with the drivers side door selected, try it with the passenger door selected. Hope that helps.

Default Passenger side mirror turns in after being in reverse

I need Help: My 2000 Porsche 911 996 C2 Cab has an issue. When I put the car in reverse the passenger side mirror goes down very slowly (I'm OK with that), but the driver side mirror turns in after about 30 seconds and stays in. I have memory seats. I have tried to disable the passenger side mirror tilting but can not. Has anybody heard of this with driver side mirror? How do you turn off the mirror tilting? also my key fob is not working. Thanks ArtinNC See youtube of mirror below:

Works on my 2002 C4S also. Never even heard of this until this thread. Went out and tried it, works as advertised. The things I never knew!

I fixed mine just now live in the car.

1. Car on
2. Moved tranny to reverse.
3. Pushed the M and key button on my door sill panel.

Worked.
