If I decide to go that route, I'll keep my fingers crossed, but won't count on it till I see the cash come back.

Just to close the loop.

After struggling over whether to rebuild the engine with shops like Flat6 and Powertech or getting a Porsche remanufactured engine, I sold the car "as is" to an enthusiast that I'm sure will take good care of it.

In summary and for the record; 2003 911 C4S with 45k miles, was never tracked, abused and was dealer maintained. The body and the interior of the car are immaculate. The following is a list of needed repairs that I consider beyond normal wear and tear; 3 RMS seals replaced under warranty, a front differential replaced at 42k miles, a cracked cylinder liner at 45k miles. My only reminder of the car is a set of extra wheels sitting in the garage.

Don't know yet.
If I go with another Porsche, I will stay away from 996 and 997's except for the turbo or gt3. I just don't have faith in the engine's reliability.
I know this is blasphemy to some, but I may also explore a M3 or next year's RS4 and 5.

Don't overlook the Z06...talk about blasphemy......
I have a 996 with 77,000 miles and I'm real nervous about my engine....
