victor wheels - 2001 C2
Time for new rubber and wheels for my 2001 C2.
I was set to order the 18 inch Victor le mans but need some advice on what to run for the rears. Does anyone have advice on fitment for the 18x11 ET52 wheels (I was leaning toward the Hankook Ventos)? The only size that will fit this rim is 295/30 18 according to my research. Is this set up workable for the C2 nb.
Or perhaps I am better to run with the 18x9.5 ET49 wheels and go with the oe sizing of 265/35 18?
Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

I think the 18x11 with an offset of 52 would be too aggressive and may stick out of the fender IMO. Porsche recommends an 18x11 with an offset of 63mm. However, keep in mind that Porsche is pretty conservative with offsets and wheels sizes in general.
Ideally, you could upgrade to an 18x10 with an ET of 65 or an 18x10.5 with an ET of 60. You can then use a 285/30 R18 tire. Some have used 15mm spacers on an 18x10 ET 65 for a net offset of 50mm. I heard it works.
Ventus E12 have good reviews. So do the Sumitomo HTR III. Note 2002+ rear OEM wheels are 18x10 ET 65 with 285/30r18.
Going wider in the rear without changing the front size will increase understeer.

My OEM 997 Carrera Classic III 18x11 ET51 wheels barely clear the fender on compression on my NB 40th Anniversary C2 w/o rolling the lip. See my recent post for a pic:

However, I would guess there is a 75% chance that your mk1 nb c2 would NOT fit a 18x11 et 52. There were some rear suspension changes between mk1 and mk2 that gave the mk2 more clearance. Also, my 40th has the US M030 suspension and an autox alignment. If you have a lot of camber in the rear, and you're willing to roll the fender lip, you might be able to do it. The 295/30/18 tire size is correct.
