I have number...well it's in the garage in NC so I don't know. I'm in Panama right now so I can't remember. I think I am at 48k miles or something.
I also just had the ceramic IMS bearing installed (thanks marky522!)
Thinking about getting some 19" wheels. Has anyone tried those new OZ Ultra lightweight wheels that come in all of the colors? I like the dark grey from above but they look like Volks. I have also thought about SSR GT3s but the factory wheels are great. I just need a set of competition wheels.

The last few pages have quite a few pics in each thread.

Another one for the collection
I have #878. Couldn't be happier with it. Wanted a seal gray 4S at the time this rolled on to the lot and left with the 40th Anniversary. THought the widebody looked better, but this car grew on me.
Regularly spoil 4S owner's days when I roll into it!

So I was able to see the car for a day when I got back from deployment before I had to come up to Rhode Island for school. I have number 0396. And also I am above the 50k mile mark now.
Does anyone have some sport seats they want to trade for comfort seats?

Congrats. I live in RI - what school you going to - either Johnson & Wales or Brown is my guess.

haha well not school school...Navy Surface Warfare Officer School on the base here. It's only for another week. I went to Duke...which is like going to school in New England but conveniently located in North Carolina.
Another tidbit about my car...some teeth broke off of my pressure plate and I had the LNE IMS bearing install done by marky522 while the clutch was being replaced. So far so good and no oil leaks!

my AE is #817. Totally great car that I bought in January 2009, and I got a great deal at $41000. It lists for $52000 for dealer resale value. I think it's the best Porsche ever made! Now, about that pesky problem of finding a front spoiler...been waiting 2 months now *sheesh!*

Updated the registry.
Here's a pic of my 40th after a decent car wash w/ OEM 997 C2S Carrera Classic III 18" WB (rear et 51) wheels.
It's my third set of rims, though I'm thinking real hard about some lightweight OZ Alleggerita blue rims for autox!

Wait a minute!!! You have a car that is 6 years old, and it only has 500 miles on it? My question is - if you are only putting 85 miles on the car average a year, why did you bother buying it? Just so that you can walk into the garage and smile that you own one? I never thought of the 40th AE as being a trophy car!!!
Well . . . . . . . . to each his own. I try to put 85 miles on my car EVERY OTHER DAY!!! That's how I get my smiles.

Did you keep the stock wheels in case you ever would decide to sell it? I'm part of the camp that thinks a limited edition car should be returned to stock if you ever sold it, after you do that it's no longer the same car. Kind of like painting an 80's Buick Regal turbo speed yellow instead of keeping it black
Anyways, nice looking wheels!

I'll admit it. I'm addicted to rims and mods. Here's some inspiration for modding a 996 40th anniversary. =)
earlyapex w/ BBS RE rims
pstoppani w/ BBS RE rims and ROW M030
kasi w/ dymag carbon rims
mase w/ avus 19" forged rims and techart wing
triode w/ 19" champion rims
rss997 w/ GT3 Aero II wing
xx911xx w/ HRE 540r

I have zero regrets about getting the 40th AE.
I wonder how many of us have the luggage, as it seems to be a big deal to quite a few 40th AE owners.
