Those don't look like Porsche bike carriers. Below are the pictures of the current style rack:

and the older style:

The second picture shows the similarities between the Porsche branded rack and a universal Thule rack. The new style is even more similar to the VW/Audi/universal high end Thule racks.

If those carriers are branded Porsche, I'd appreciate more pictures showing detail. They sort of look like BMW (manufactured by Thule as usual) road bike specific carriers circa 1995 or so.

Not sure what circa it is. But there is a porsche 911 at the bottom of the tray. Will take pictures in the morning.

Circa: approximately or around. I just wasn't certain of the years that BMW used that rack. I've heard Porsche's used them also, but hadn't seen one before.

I've put roof racks on most cars I've had for a while now, so I've done quite a bit of research. I wouldn't mind finding out a bit more about those racks. Thanks a lot for the help -and feel free to ask me anything about the racks if you have any questions btw.

Uploaded more pictures. The picture at the bottom tray is that of a 996. So it's probably the same circa.

Thanks for the pics dr_r2r. The cross bars are certainly factory and the bike carriers do appear to be the style Thule manufactures for OEM applications, but I'd never seen that style before on a Porsche. Cool!
