Default 996 PCM Radio Code

I have owned my 1999 996 for a little over a year. Recently, when the shop I take it to was working on the brake booster they disconnected the battery. The PCM code I had from the Porsche dealer (based on the VIN) did not work. I have the serial number of the radio. How can I obtain the correct PCM code? I've been without tunes for a couple of months and am ready to purchase a new radio. Prefer to just get the code if possible. Appreciate any guidance.

Hmm, I didn't think the PCM's needed a code???
You can try the renntech.org forums, there's a thread over there for this specific purpose. I think you use the unit's serial no.

BTW, A quick intro and some pics would be appreciated, and would mean the pic police don't have to come after you

Yep, visit Renntech.

Worked for me, but it took some patience and fiddling with the suggested code. The suggested code gets you close, then you have to try swapping a number or two.

The dealer here in my town, Wichita Kansas, prints off an entire configuration listing for my car whenever I take it in, not often, and this list includes the radio code.
