T-regs are pretty bullet proof. In 108k miles had a stepper motor replaced when brand new. A prop shaft replaced at 96k. other than that regular maintenance. Parts are awfully expensive when you need them but such is life. Enjoy the car.

Bummer Chris but one must appreciate the sacrifice you are making for your family. Its the right move and you will be back in a Pcar soon enough.

Too bad, but your new ride looks pretty nice!

Just out of curiosity, what do you do for work that requires you to see fatal accidents all the time??? Sounds like a challenging job.

NYS Accident Investigator among others..... really gives you a sense of speed.

That stated, I don't see the point in making said car louder, nor do I understand how leaving the stock alone is akin to "curling up and dieing"

Call me an old man I guess, but I like my luxury or family vehicles as dead silent as possible.
The rear cats in the toureg and cayenne are placed there for not emissions but to reduce the sound of the exhuast and gas milage and throttle response is impacted. The 4.2L engine has a really nice tone to it also, i remember it from my S4, it wont be obnoxiously loud just a bit more grunt. Ive never left a single car stock yet...dont plan on it either.

THANKS GUYS FOR ALL THE WELL WISHES!!! This is why rennlist is such a great place.

After driving the "tank" for a few days, its a really nice SUV. Ordered a set of tires and front brakes with Hawk HPS pads, Ill post a few more pictures when the car is clean.

Silver6 is dead on....prop shafts can fail, the V8s are fairly bulletproof, electronics have been improved since 2004. My friend who is the shop supervisor for audi/VW said they are great with the only issue being the airride that is infamously failable but other than that he says they are great and very safe. Please refer to it as a T-reg....T-RAG make me feel like im driving a women on a broom stick . haha

+1 what Ed said.

I have already done this:

Next Porsche = 997
Date = before I die!

Tim......it has been a while since you have had a Pcar. I applaud you for hanging in there. The day will come and will be glorious!
