Default Sad Day......

Car is gone....got the equivilent of 21K from the dealer...$19k plus $2K tax credit.

Replaced it with my fake Cayenne. 4.2L V8 310hp, lots of goodies. These kids better appreciate it.

My friends wife and 3yr old duaghter got T-boned last week in thier Nissan Armada by some woman who said she didnt see the stop sign. They walked away... The thought of this frieghtened me a bit and after taking a look at some of these SUV/Trucks front bumper hieghts...which are eye level in both the R32 and 996....It forced my hand to get something a bit bigger for these kids. I see fatal accidents at least once a week...(job requirement)...sometimes its kids. Figured it was time to bite the bullet. So all of this leaves me torn....the sadness of losing the porsche but the relief of doing what is responsible and unselfish.

Anyways...

Car drives like a Tank, gets sh$t gas mileage....perfect kid hualer. Nice amount of room in cargo area, good amount of room in back seat.

Upgrades for the future...

20" Cayenne Wheels, rear cat deletes, modified cayenne intake kit, lowering springs (-1").

Still have the R32 to scoot around in and payments are less a month.

Also just wanted to say thank you to the rennlist community for once again making the pleasure of owning a porsche so much sweeter!!! I will be back....this isnt my last one, trust me. Ill be around poking my head in every so often. Again Thank you guys!!!

Congrats on the new toy (well, family toy). I respect you for thinking about the family safety. But I got a feeling you will be back in the game pretty soon

Depending on how old the kids are maybe you could have them run an online business that makes all of you money. First thing is to get them interested in selling their toys online then work them up to thinking its fun to sell the VW and replacing it with a 911.

I got the toureg for 17ish out the door, comparable 2006 model cayenne were 25-30g, quite a big difference. The toureg does share alot with the cayenne...it seems I am a big fan of vw cars with audi drive-trains.

Ill meet you guys in the 997 section...gimmie a few years.
