Default My tip is growling in turns...hope my guess is wrong?

My C2 with a tip has started a deep growl when acclelerating out of either a left or right turn. Does not do it in a straight line. Feels like a bad motor mount and the drop is metal against metal but not sure on that guess. Might be in the differential which is what I hope it isn't! The tranny was replaced by Porsche under warranty and has 50,000 miles on it. Any ideas appreciated.

Steve,

Sorry to hear about the growl. Unfortunately, I can't help with the diagnosis.

BTW, I am in town (Dallas) through next Monday (1/3/11). Do you want to meet for coffee/breakfast on Saturday or Sunday?

Maybe the tranny mount? Have no idea, just guessing at this point? Anyone have or had this issue?

Thanks! I was searching for a growl not a grind? This is what I was hoping it was.

After over 40 years of driving experience I can most assuredly say your car stereo is not working correctly. Make sure it is on and turn the volume **** till you have a little distortion. Then adjust videlity/audio quality settings till the distortion goes away. The repeat the process till you have the volume as loud as possible with out blowing the coils out of your speakers. That or go to GoDaddys Stereo's and have the 5 gazillion watts system installed.

Sorry about that. I should be exercising but its raining. I can't wait till the snowbound guys go stir crazy.

You can try a max straight line acceleration and see if you here the thump of too much play back there. I've got that right now.

Well..most of that is meaningless.... But, it does clunk when down shifting sometimes which makes sense with the mounts going bad.
