Oh my, you thought that it would be helpful to jump right in to the deep end of the pool in OT?

Look obviously I was not there, but from your own description it sounds like you rolled up to the Porsche dealership in a Lexus luxobarge complete with shiny lip gloss and a leopard print bra and you were suprised when the salesman treated your request to test drive three high powered sports cars with summer tires on a very cold afternoon with suspicion?

I thought that was an unusual detail to provide. It sucks that the dealership was not more helpful, but it also seems (from the info she posted) she might have handled it better.

Beginner I'd suggest you call a dealership in advance, establish your seriousness as a potential customer and arrange a test drive. That way, if the dealership is unwilling, you can take your business elsewhere.
