Im looking at the V-flow air intake and the Fabspeed maxflo competition intake. Im not really after the performance gains, im only after the "woot" on acceleration
If you have tried this or can suggest others I would really be thankful and buy you all a box of popcorn from here in Manila
Thanks

I think of of those board members who have a CAI, the Evo has been the most common choice. That's completely the reason I chose it. Discussing gains is pointless, as you've noted, and the sound thing is impossible to compare online. I went with the one that the most people seemed content with.
FWIW, I had the impression that it was milder than some in terms of noise. I wanted that howl at WOT, but otherwise didn't want things to sound uncivilized. That's pretty much what I got.

Stay with the stock box. Sound will get a little deeper if you pull it out and drill a lot of holes in the bottom of it (increases air flow to the box). If sound is what you are after I am with r1de23 do the bypass pipes and keep the cats. It sounds great on the start up and not to bad up to 3500 rpms after that... WOW dogs will hide.

I was also considering the Bypass pipes but I was more interested in hearing the air getting sucked in at woot. I havent heard the bypass pipes personally and the vids I have seen sounds like its all "exhaust" and you cant hear the engine anymore.
