I got my car back.
The grinding is solved.
They replaced the transmission mount bushings.
Whilst there he showed me the drive shaft coupling was going to fail imminently so they replaced the drive shaft too.
Total bill $1,760 including parts and labor.
I was quoted $1,600 by a local indy but I really like my dealer and service team at Herb Chambers Porsche.
I am finding increasingly close pricing between indy and dealer btw...

I think when it comes to small, generally cheap parts (bushings, couplings, etc), going to the dealer vs. an indy makes little difference, since both charge $$ for labor. When you start replacing larger more expensive parts, the dealer charges more every time!

Roadsession, your post gives me hope.
I have similar grinding on a RH turn - (https://rennlist.com/forums/showthread.php?t=986840&goto=newpost)
I will check my bushings.
Can you tell me which part on the bill is the main item in question - so I can see what it looks like and where abouts it is.
