Default What would you powder coat?

I got a powder coating gun the other day. I works quite well - I was playing around with some scrap engine parts.

Anything on the 996 you'd powder coat? I can't fit an 18" rim in my oven... but maybe if I built an extension.

Cool

If you have stock exhaust tips, you might play with this idea. Powdercoat them gloss black for the "conservative but bad" approach. Or, color-match them to your body color for that "tuner" look.

You might start a whole new trend.
You might get call$ from Rennlister$ wanting you to do a $et for their car...

I like that idea, match the tips to your car color.... can you actually get powder coating to match factory colors?

Hey, now that's something that I might add to my "mod" list for the spring. Can you get powder coat in Dark Teal?

Larry,
Coat your tips with Kelly green. That way you will have Dark Teal after your next 1 hour trip on the highway/

Brackets, tow hooks, etc. Small things that need a durable finish.

I'd never powdercoat wheels. Powder hides cracks and if a wheel has a crack I want to see it. Only anno or paint for my wheels.

Do the wheel lug bolts, they always rust. Would look good in satin black.

Powercoat on exhaust tips will not stand up to the heat....tips require ceramic coating...calipers are a great idea

Next person to pulls an IMS bearing, send it to me, and I'll powder coat it!

Yeah, I don't think the regular color powders will hold up on exhaust tips. The powder flows at 350 degrees F or so... But there are a few ceramic colors: http://www.columbiacoatings.com/category_s/7.htm

I like the lug bolt idea. Definitely going to try that some time - maybe when I put the snow tires on!

I would powder coat your brake calipers, for free, without you even having to ask, just so I could practice.
