Default Auto headlight adjust failure.

So since day 1 I always found my headlights pointing a tad low. Few nights ago it bugged me enough, so used search function here to trouble shoot.

Did the lights on-then ingnition on thing: nothing happens, they don't move at all.
Is there a quick way to make sure it's the sensor causing it, or could it be that both little motors are faulty.

Other option would be to remove the lights, set the lights where i want them and call it quits.

ideas anyone?

I assume they are high intensity discharge headlights. Is this correct?

Did you look underneath by your control arms?

Not 100% sure on a Porsche but on my BMW, there is a sensor with an arm hooked up to my front control arm to feed information to the ECU then headlights to know where it should adjust to.

There was a thread on the operation of the automatic lights a few months ago with explanations. At least I think there was. I don't have that feature so I didn't put the facts in my memory.

That's correct. There is a sensor on the driver side control arm. You should see the black plastic sensor and it's small arm reaching down to connect to the control arm.

I would first make sure everything is hooked up.. the dealership forgot to re hook up the sensor after a service on my mercedes. Prob worth checking before you order new parts. :-)

I agree, don't just throw parts at. I would check it first.
