Default Wow that was easy - rear sway bar impressions

That was the easiest rear sway bar I've ever installed! Too bad everything wasn't so easy on our cars.

I took it out for a spin last night but didn't push it too hard because it was dark and I was tired. Left PSM on.

Initial impressions on full hard setting: Rear end doesn't feel like it takes forever to repsond when turing. Feels much more nimble and tossable. PSM kicked in versus the car leaning and gripping. Understeer should be a thing of the past.

I'm sure now I can easily throttle steer (fish tail) on command where the stock bar was too soft.

Once I have more time with it and without the PSM on, I'll report back.

For $233, I highly recommend this easy mod.

Wait till you do the front
(actually not that bad, but a lot more than the rear)

Also - a lot of things ARE that easy !!
(we can start a list of the easiest things to remove/replace)

No other suspension mods. I was considering the ROW 030, but thought I would try this first since. I've had good results with previous cars with just replacing the RSB. I'll drive it for awhile and then decide to add the ROW030 dampers and springs later.

Pics won't do any good here...no ride height change of course.

Drove it more today. Corners MUCH harder with the back end staying flat. And not having to wait for the rear to respond after turning the steering wheel is great. In my opinion, it's worth twice what the part costs.

Huge difference. The only drawback if any is it's heavier than the stock bar, but that's minor compared to the handling feel differences.

I've been thinging about the H&R bars also. Did it come with new end links? How easy would it be to adjust, at say in a parking lot at an autocross? Who did you buy it through?
Thanks,

Thanks,
No new end links required. It did of course come with new bushings. I haven't adjusted it yet, but if you bring a jack to get it up a few inches, it should be fairly easy to adjust if it doesn't bind. I'll adjust it to full soft when the weather gets cold, rainy, and snowy here.

I bought it from here at $233 shipped: http://www.lpiracing.com/Porsche-911...9615p74267.htm

If you are really enjoying the handling with after just changing the rear sway bar, you should consider doing the front bar., and hey while your at it.........
I installed the full X-74 suspension which includes the coilovers, sway bars, bushings, and lowers the car 30mm.
WOW, what an amazing transformation from stock. The car handles so much better in every way. The most notable surprise is how the car rotates around corners so beautifully now. I am blown away how well this 996 handles.

Merlon i recommend this suspension for your C4...

Hey Pete,

I totally feel like a hockey puck now that you mention it. The grip
of the new suspension is going to cost me some seats and harness to better handle the car... I am so happy tou talked me into getting the X74..
