I have not used a hose to wash a p-car in almost 2 years. Search for Griot's waterless (spray) car wash or ONR (optimum NO RINSE) - using a hose makes a mess....all you need are some good micro fiber cloths/towels and alike along with the right cleaner. Washing can be done with less than 2 gal water and witrh the griots its like it says..... no water

Gotta hose or pressure wash down the car to ensure there is no sand/debris on car so when you apply a "microfiber" wash mit or towel to car the debri isnt mushed into the paint.
I use my pressure washer then microfiber mit with excess soap....hose down, and dry with cotton towels. Then apply product.
In between washes I may use Griots Spray detailer, to do touch up on water spots or lightly soiled areas.

If you get a really powerful pressure washer and use a compound of silicon and carbon you can wash all of that dirty paint right off and leave the surface slightly roughed up and ready for a sparkle new coat of paint

Talk about a hijacked thread!!!!![hiha](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/roflmao.gif)
I don't use water... or soap... or mitt...
Washing the car would destroy the awesome patina of 12 years and 60k miles of road and track. Washing is for sissy's.
I strongly recommend you do not pick up old wheel weights from the garage floor with your bare hands. You could end up with lead poisoning. Leave them there and call your local city HAZMAT Response Team.
Most segmented wheel weights are made in Japan, in the two cities that produce all Japanese-made automobiles - Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Lead and radioactivity - bad poo-poo.

When you have a mercury spill now you have to call a Code Brown. Too funny.
PS - on the washing of the car. My P-car never see rain so I really don't need to wash it very often all at all rather a soft dust cloth does the trick nicely.
