Would it fit the 3.4 996?

wow - both look great.
question on the bumper - is that from a 996 C4S? does it come with just the bumper and grills (and use existing hardware)?

Just wondering - it says 3.8 on the airbox right?
If so I personally wouldn't want it on...just doesn't seem right - kinda like putting on 'eyelids' to make the 996 headlights look like 997's....
I'm proud of my headlights AND my airbox! LOL

cmon, whatever, if you're that self conscious you'll need more than a 3.6 badge to fix your insecurities. These cars aren't classics, drive em, enjoy em, but don't be ridiculous with the "I want to keep all upgrades to OEM Porsche and MKII 996" stuff
I'm more interested in substantiation o the "much better airflow" statement. Has anyone, anyone ever dynoed these before and after?

... and maybe even define "better". Intakes are tuned for volume, flow, pressure and temperature. I'm always suspicious of words like "better" when it comes to mods.
It does look pretty, though, no doubt about it.

haha actually no coffee at all here! Quit coffee when I quit smoking.
I didn't mean it harshly at all, no intonation on the internet! I did not mean to sound like I was speaking about him specifically either. Most 997 parts are interchangeable w/ 996 parts, some may even be improved beyond cosmetics, so by all means go ahead and use them if you want to is all I'm saying, and don't let anyone else's opinions on "correctness" dictate your decisions.
I've always been fatigued by "purist" attitudes especially when misapplied to volume production, massively depreciating, technologically advanced cars. In a collectible, sure I want it correct, original and straight. My driver? I want it fast, loud, shiny and reliable.
And I don't care if someone has a 3.8 airbox or a 3.6 airbox. but if I change the badge on my 3.8 airbox to a 3.6, now I really have to do some gymnastics. All I've done now is change the name of the actual part to something else which it is not. It IS a 3.8 airbox. It's NOT a 3.6 airbox. "This is my 3.6 996. I put on a 997 3.8 airbox, but since I felt like I was somehow misleading the throngs of admirers who peek under my engine lid every weekend, I changed the badge to 3.6"
It's patently ridiculous. 99.99% of the population will deem you fit for commitment to a mental institution upon hearing that statement or any variation thereof.

I agree that there won't be too many collectible 996s, other than the TT and the GT3. But I'd say yours is a pretty harsh judgment all the same. 996 production never got much over 20,000 units a year worldwide. I've actually been very impressed with the depreciation, compared to a lot of cars with such a high initial price. And mine, at least, is practically primitive technologically, compared to modern cars. As you wouldn't judge someone for updating a 996 (a time-honoured Porsche tradition going back to the 356, by the way), so I wouldn't judge someone who decided to treat theirs as special. Just sayin'.
