The market is really soft. I know you have a ton of money in the car but with modded cars it can hurt... ask me how i know

Does the car still have A/c? I am looking for a car just like this, or build one myself.

Side note, PM your info. I think we could use your products in our shop.

Yes, A/C is still functional.. Everything else is as well, though its a track car the interior is perfect.

I think the cars that are hurt by mods are those that aren't fully modded.. The guy that will buy this car probably won't drive it on the street except to and from the track..

The instant gratification that the car gives to the track oriented purchaser is valuable, I believe.. This is a fully developed, absolutely set up car that doesn't even need an oil change before you take it to the track.

Chad's old pristine white 996 aero car is asking $27K. It has sunroof delete and 38.5K miles with all of your goodies except ECU flash, IMS retrofit and sump. I am sticking with my $25K.

90% of the potential buyers will not want your track goodies like the suspension and GT3 seats so you may want to sell that separately and dial back the setup. Mooty his selling is GT3 suspension for $1400. Install that and sell your JICs separate. That will appeal to more buyers.

Why on Gods green Earth would you sell your 930?!?! That is a car you never sell!

No offense to the 996 board but I would not sell a 930 for a 996 although this car is seriously bad @$$!!! I would love to have Jake's car since the upgrades but can't. I would keep the 930 and buy this one separate is I were you.

The 26-27K numbers would make me happy.. I have a client thats interested in the car and he knows the car already so it might sell before I even have to advertise it.

If a car with 1/2 as many miles, but not making this kind of power and without the IMSR sells for 27K, I'd expect the value of the aforementioned items to equal the cost of the lesser mileage car... The IMSR being done to this car already opens it up to those who are not choosing a 996 because the IMSR may seem to be mandatory for them upon purchase, driving cost up that much more. The car that was linked did have a lot of the same options, but it also lacks some very expensive additions that this car has, like the accu-sump, full flow oiling system with remote filtration and etc.. The car linked is the closest thing I have seen to this car for sale, and it looks like it sold for the asking price of 27K.

Fact is the purchaser of this car may not be a forum reader, or could be a forum lurker and might not care what other cars are selling for, thats the case with my client who is interested in it. This car really belongs on the track, because of the power it makes and how its set up. Instead of trying to sell the car as a street car, I plan on targeting the guys who value what a fully prepared, turn key, track car really is. The car has the looks and has the power and has 4 speed records to prove it :-)

It would be a shame to undo whats been done just to sell the car, before I'd do that I'd probably just keep it.

Chad is not including the GT3 seats, doesn't have the control arms and toe links, roll bar, and as you mention is missing the IMS and sump. That's several thousand dollars worth of stuff. These are different kind of cars imho. Chad has a street car that will work on the track. Jake's is primarily a track car you can drive on the street. Both nice cars, I'm just saying that if you were going to build a race car, or a dedicated track car, you would have to spend a fair amount of money to get it to where this car already is.

Just my $.02

Mike, you nailed it.. Unlike most of these cars that are trackable street cars, mine is a streetable track car.. It would make a really sweet 996 spec car with very little modification from its current state..

Did it sell? I just found out my friend Anton sold it to you after the engine gave out last year.

I am building a 912 based Land Speed Porsche for her now. Lots of records to claim in the 2 liter and 2.5 classes both N/A and blown.

I still have my Millennium 996, but will probably sell it next month as I want to finish the ITR Boxster.

Over the winter I'll be looking for a good deal on a vehicle that uses the DFI engine to begin development with it.
