Default Headlight scratching seems all of a sudden new...

Hi. See the attached images.

Anyone find this due to heat/thermal changes? Sand? Other.

And, more importantly, what should/can I do about it (think avoiding new units at 2k each retail...)...

Thank you in advance!!!!

Piece of cake--Google on plastic headlight polish. Lots of products, easy weekend job.

Thanks. Anyone have a strong, experienced based review of the best one....perhaps with some pointers...can I do it by hand...or do I need a power tool....I have a mild fear/respect for swirl inducing devices.

u can polish them and bring them back.. but u will polish off the factory uv/ scratch protection finish.. so u should order some clear covers that do the same thing from someplace like Griot's ... otherwise, they will yellow quickly and scratch even easier! these are something to add to any headlight before this happens. :-)

The above post is a warning, do not remove the scratch resistant coating, you may make them appear better short term and ruin them long term. I've seen some that look absolutely horrible, like they have been scuffed and sanded and are no longer clear but cloudy. This is one area where you should get professional help by someone familiar with hard coated polycarbonates.
