for those obsessed over the headlights issue

I understand why some people would want to but I have no interest at all in changing the appearance of the headlights on my car. It's just gorgeous the way it is.
The drug analogy is kinda funny though. Why spend money to alter your perception of reality when everyone else only sees exactly whats on the surface of it.
I guess that I'm already in my happy place, thank you very much.

i goof around but I wont knock somebody for doing mods that they like, it's their car, mod and enjoy! (within good taste please

I just think the headlights are fine and I am a pretty hardcore Porsche guy!
Liked them MkI lights when I had my BoxsterS and I like the MkII lights on my car.
I don't think 996 lights make it any less Porsche.
But thats my opinion... for whatever it's not worth

Wow, seems to be a popular topic 
I can understand some peoples desire for the round headlights, but not a big deal for me... Don't dwell on the past, evolve and move on. Heritage is good, but like others have mentioned i don't think headlights maketh the car. I wonder what they could have come up with if the designers were allowed? Fried egg or not, it most defiantly still looks like a Porsche.

Can anyone confirm please, that Lil' Wayne was seen wearing a MKII light around his neck, dangling from a thick gold chain while he was getting ready to rehearse for the MTV video/music awards...... or Did Kanye step in, take the mike away and say that the Mk I was really the most deserved.........

I remember controversy when these headlights first came out. But then I remember Porsche earning some engineering and design awards for these 'puppies'........ When we decided to get our next Porsche, the 996 was easily the best we could afford and you know what? I never, not once looked at the headlights......but oh that rear..................

In 1999 I bought a new Guards Red 996 and I was one of the first people to post on this board. There is some FAQ thing that has my name in it.
The 996 911 a is unique fast light agile car, its a true drivers car. The headlight look right for the car. I love them and I like it that they are the old style last generation of the 911. Everywhere I go someone makes a comment about my car, it looks brand new and I love the reaction when I say its 11 years old. I missed the red one from the day I sold it and was determined to find another one, this year I did.
Love it that many guys out there have a very similar car to mine but paid tens of thousands more than I did. Love not having a car payment. Love that license plates only cost $110 a year. Love that Geico only charges me $266 every 6 months for full coverage everything. Love the extended EFG warranty, and I LOVE THE 996 HEADLIGHTS THAT GO WITH ALL OF THIS.

Hahaha, that Honda is hilarious... But I gotta say that there's nothing worse than the guy's with the Chrysler 300s that put the Bentley logo on it & actually give you this stare like they're important or something. I think they actually make themselves believe it's a Bentley, hahaha.
