Need part number for front turn lights
So I feel a little stupid and need some help. My left front turn light has burned out on my 2003 996 targa with the Xenon headlights. I looked online at Pelican and found the following two bulbs under "Turn lights" in the 996 section:
999-631-038-90-M671
Turn Signal Bulb (12V - 28.5W), 996 Carrera/Carrera 4 (1999-01), Each
Brand: Flosser [More Info]
999-631-140-90-M97
Position (Parking) Light Bulb Inside Xenon Headlamp, 12V - 6W (H6W), Longlife, 996 Carrera 2/4 (1999-04), 996 Turbo (2001-05), Each
Looking at the product information neither one appears correct for a 996 Mk II front turn light.
So, I email Pelican customer support and the response is: use part number
900-631-021-90-M97.
So I look that part up and Pelican lists it for the 997 and the 987 MY 2005 and up. Nothing for the 996. Now I'm more confused.
Can anyone provide some guidance? Or am I a real idiot and is this info listed in my owner's manual?
Thanks,
Lawrence

The parts pdf file is online some place. On a different computer so the link isn't on this computer. Try a search for a thread reply with parts and pdf in the 996 section. I've lised it before. Makes things easier.

Thanks - downloaded the 996 pdf and found the turn light. It turns out Pelican was recommending a different p/n than the one in the catalog, but when I searched on the correct (per the porsche diagram) part number, Pelican said "Use this p/n instead!" Ordered two, hopefully it fits. Should be my saturday project - hopefully not too difficult for the mechanically challenged like me!

simple job...
words of warning.. when you unlock the headlight assy it sounds like ya broke something... be VERY careful sliding is back in (wiggle and be gentle, used the lock and feel it slide into place) and when it locks back in, you will wonder if you just broke something too....
biggest worriy is getting it sliding in right and the connector engaging (which is why a litttle wiggling helps)
I swear it's almost sexual the so you may want to talk soft and rub it too

GREMLINS! - Turn signal help!
This morning I replaced the left front turn signal bulb, easy job thanks to the suggestions here. I was surprised to find the old bulb not visibly damaged (no rattle when shaken, so visible filament separation, etc..) BUT, I replaced the bulb, reassembled the assembly. Inserted the key and turned it to "run" without starting the engine, and.... Voila - success.
I got out of the car and visibly verified both turn lights, all good.
One hour later, I start the car and head out to the cafe. When I signal a left turn leaving my neighborhood - fast blinking! This continues whether I hold the lever for a short lane change or switch it to indicate a left turn. At the cafe I checked the lights visually - everything is fine except no left turn signal, just like before....
I shutoff the car and tried it with the ignition in "run" but the engine off - no luck.
Any ideas???? Unless the new bulb burned out when I started the car or on the initial left signal with the car running.... its something else - and that worries me.
Can't be a fuse, can it? If the fuse was blown it couldn't have worked immediately after I replaced the bulb.
What is different with the car running or off - alternator?
Battery is good, voltmeter responds as expected (I think). No other issues at present.
Appreciate any ideas - just when I thought I'd saved $150 and a trip to my indy (which burns half of a workday that I can't afford to lose right now.)
