I just purchased the new-to-me #1389.
Mike, the previous owner, really babied the car.
IMS/RMS replaced, second set of wheels, pristine.

Honestly, I was really just looking for any 996 with the X 51 Power kit package, but when I learned of the 40th AE, that became the car for me.
Cars in Phoenix, Santa Fe, Florida, Massachusetts, and New Jersey were all on my list, but this had the lowest mileage, no title or carfax problems, and great service records.

I had a PPI done at a factory trained independent Porsche shop, and was quite reassured by the fact that they loved this car.

Much thanks to 40jahre911.com, and to rennlist, both of which provided invaluable knowledge.

[QUOTE=balefire;7631523]I was bored / excited about my new to me 996 Anniversary. So I compiled a registry of known 996 AE here at rennlist. Feel free to add / change / delete.

Here are some of the sources:

Congrats on the new-to-you Nr. 1389! I'll update the Registry car list to reflect your ownership. When you have a moment please shoot me an email at 40jahre911@gmail.com so that I can get a few details. BTW, I'm the owner of Nr. 0711 and am the person who manages the 40jahre911.com website, the Registry FB page, etc. Links are in my signature below. And, yes, post some pics!

Welcome; E39 M5 and a 40th is a good combo! Gotta say the 911 is more fun on track though.

Thanks for the welcome and the positive comments, I agree that the 40th will be fun on track. I do have an E30 track-prepped that I use/abuse, so I'm not sure how much time the Porsche will have on track though.

Hmmm...don't see a message in my inbox here on RL. Do you mind trying via email (40jahre911@gmail.com)? Might be an issue with your settings or with you being a new RL member or something and having limited ability to send PMs.

Has anyone fitted their forty with this power chip? 20 or so HP gains for $1k is not bad value for money when you consider the possible warranties that can be bought with it.

Call me a skeptic - the warranty is for the Powerchip or damage caused by the Powerchip - how do you go about proving that? But there is some protection based on this in the brochure:

Towing will become less demanding,

All the right options and decent price if it has Clutch/RMS/IMS history.

Not bad...too bad someone felt compelled to put a dealer badge on the engine compartment lid.

How much to repair the cracked front bumper (passenger side)? I think it's a fair starting point if all else checks out and someone is not looking for a queen.

Not a bad dealer asking price even if that stuff is not done yet. For $35k you would have a pretty nice 40th!
