Slow but surely heading to 500,000 miles!

Also, my beautiful 2001 Turbo is going away, to a happy new owner!

This is the ultimate in awesome! Honestly when I think of car guys who are really enjoying their sports cars, I think of this 40th anniversary 911 and the guy that got over 700k on his C5 Corvette which is now in the Corvette museum. I'm hoping to find something myself to drive well beyond retirement in a similar fashion.

My former black 928 in the for ground and my new to me, 911, one one of our road trips down the Mississippi, in Wisconsin!

I lead the pack, cause nobody knows where we are going!

Hello! I just picked up 1037! 80,000 miles, fantastic shape. Cleanest 996 I’ve ever seen. Sport seats.

It is with great sadness that I report the passing of our friend, Army Vet, and car lover Steve Hoyt (911user). He died this past Thursday at his home in Minneapolis of Acute Leukemia.

Folks from this forum will know Steve from his almost 500k mile Anniversary Edition.

Very sad news! Thank you for posting this as I was recently wondering where Steve was on his journey to 500k miles and beyond. I once had a chance to meet him but ended up being out of town and regret not being able to get together. From the messages we exchanged, Steve seemed like a great person and a true Porsche owner. RIP Steve and I hope one of his son's picks up where Steve left off. I posted the link to the original message in our 40AE Owners Registry group on Facebook.

Sad to hear about 911user. I always appreciated his mileage posts setting an example for us to use and experience these cars often.

Steve was a good friend for many years and we travelled often together, playing lead - follow to many 928 events and sometimes just meeting up - out on the roads of our beautiful country... Unfortunately some of our last drives together were to the hospital... ;-(

His wife Julie was a strong woman and his sons Danny and Luke were one of the prides of his life. They have turned out to be adventurous spirits as well. I am hoping that they will step into the seat of his beloved 996 and take it that last 2,000 miles to 500,000! Steve almost made it

I purchased his one of one 1991 928 GT XX8 Widebody car about 5 years ago and had to take it for a ride in his honor yesterday after receiving the news of his death.

Our world has lost a good one...

We shared many laughs together and I've already been missing him...
