Default IMS Bearing Replacement In Progress.....*Complete*

Hello, I'm new to the Porsche community. I just picked up a 2000 996. I currently replacing my IMS bearing and RMS. I've had much guidance from Kyle and numerous other write-ups. So far so good... except that bolt at the 12 o'clock position stalled my progress for about an hour. If anyone wants some advice or pictures let me know. I about about 5 bolts from dropping the tranny...

so 7:23 pm to 9:45 pm.

That's less than two and a half hours from time he finished removing the easy bolts to the time the trans was sitting on the floor next to his car. It took longer to change my spark plugs.

The more of these threads I see the more I think I'm doing my own clutch and IMS bearing...perhaps as early as the end of the summer.

My clutch is getting stiff, but when I saw that the clutch in a club members car was almost as good as new even though it felt old, it got me thinking that I might only replace my friction plate, and leave the flywheel and pressure plate for another go....

What's your thoughts?

I'm thinking maybe if the car sat a long time there was bonding between the plates and flywheel. After that it was just smear the scaring is what it looks like to me. Chunks bonded and rusted to the wheel then applied friction after that. Not sure about your plates but most have metal in them. That or somebodys been frying the clutch.

Doesn't look too bad to me. Is it slipping?
