Default Anyone else use this wheel cleaner.

Gooooood stuff man. This was the result with VERY LITTLE effort. I brushed them a bit, But not enough to even work a sweat.

I got the same result with my 928 rims that had not been cleaned since 1985. However I had to go over them 3 times.

Not acidic, In fact, although I have not tested it, they say if it gets on the paint, Dont worry just wipe it off. Says it will nto harm the paint. I think the exact words are "no harsh chemicals"

One thing I like about the open style 'Turbo' wheels is I can reach in with my wash mitt I use for the wheels and wash the barrels, the backside of the spokes, the calipers and hats every time I wash the car.

Give it a try.

I agree, but the last time I think they were cleaned was 30K miles ago. They needed a good cleaning. I will keep up on them now.

I am going to spend some more time on them. I want to remove the old sticky stuff from old weights.

People are too quick to say "don't use acidic wheel cleaners", as many of them are just fine. Case in point, Mothers All Wheel, which was an acidic based cleaner. It was also the best wheel cleaner that I have ever used.

The new version (hit the shelves in Feburary) is now a foaming alkaline based cleaner, and I don't think it works quite as well as the old one.

I have used that Dupont Teflon wheel cleaner before and I didn't think it compared at all to the Mothers wheel cleaner.

Kyle,

If you like that product, I would advise you to buy a bunch of it if you found it recently.
I was the product manager for that product and we no longer make it.

Oh, and there are no acids in it. As claimed, it can be used as a bug an tar remover without harming paint.

I haven't found any wheel cleaners that work as advertised, i.e. "Spray it on and rinse off the dirt". I spray it on and rinse it off, but the dirt remains. I've tried several brands and I still have to scrub.

Crap, I know lowes carried it. I am going to stop on the way home and if they have a case, buy it. Does it spoil?

No, it has a nice long shelf life.

However you probably won't find it at lowes. It's been out of Lowes for quite some time.

You might have to do an internet search to find any remaining product.

P21S Gel never lives up to that "spray and wipe" BS

Still cleaning up from the PO eh?

I keep looking at the factory Sport Classic II's but I don't think I can get my grubby little fingers in to reach the barrels when washing.
