OT: Turned another corner.....
Those of you that have been on the 996 Forum for a few years probably know much of this story, but the Newbies and rookies may not, so .........
Background to this story..........
In early 2006, when we were living in the Charlotte, NC area, I got caught in a corporate downsizing situation. I was unemployed for about 10 months.
In late 2006, I went to work for an insurance company for about a year. While I worked my *** off 6 days a week, I got very little pay, so I left there to resume my search for a real job. Unemployed for 3 months.
In February 2008, I started a new job in Dallas. We moved from Charlotte, NC to Dallas that summer. The day before we closed on the Dallas house, the owners of the company announced the sale of 65% of the stores. My Dallas job ended in early December of 2008 when they laid off 85% of the corporate staff. Once again, unemployed, this time for 6 months! BTW, we still owned the Charlotte house but were living in the Dallas house. <== twice, once for each house! BTW, we finally sold the Charlotte house in September of last year.
In May of 2009, after 6 months of unemployment, I started a 7-week consulting job in Greenville, SC. You are probably wondering "How did that work out for you?" Well, this week will conclude my 43rd week of consulting with the same company. However, this week is also the final week of my consulting work with this company.
Now the rest of the story...........
I am pleased to tell you that I have accepted an offer for of employment with the company in Greenville, SC. Yes, the same company that I have been working with for the past 11 months. The company is a regional grocery company with 207 stores. My first official day as a "direct hire employee" will be Sunday, March 28th! My wife and I will be moving to the Greenville, SC area. I will continue to commute to and from Greenville until we get the house in Dallas sold. Don't want two house payments again!
I just wanted to share the good news with my friends here on the 996 Forum! Maybe some day I can afford to dump my @#$%^&*ing Honda!
Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Here is a pic of my former 2004 C2 Lapis Blue 996, which is required to make this thread a topic relevant to the 996 Forum. Without the pic, this gets moved to OT.

Congrats Tim!!!!!!
I did some work a few years at the hospital in Greenville. The company I worked at sold the glass canopies above the entrances and I PM'd the job. Great area. I loved flying into that airport.
Good luck!

Pete, yes is a breeze to get in and out of the GSP airport. I have been through there so often in the last 11 months, the airpots security guards know me by name. Really!
