What is this IMS failure you speak of? Is this something new?

Sometimes my wife has PMS, but it is not a failure, more like a guaranteed occurence. Also, I hope this IMS is not contagious, as I have had my flu shot, but not my IMS shot.

100,000 miles. No IMS or RMS failure yet. I did have to replace a faulty clutch. Darn thing went out after just 95,000 miles. Mechanic checked RMS and it was dry.

After tearing down 3 99 3.4 engines one with 103k and bearing was failed but not catastrophic yet one with 63k and bearing seals had gone, and one with 72k in perfect condition. All were OEM and never touched. Not very scientific or statistically valid but for what it's worth.

My Dealer parts guy showed me the shop drawing for the IMS assembly which did not show a bearing. Guess there isn't one so you can all stop worrying and just drive the damn thing.

Does my Honda have an IMS? Should I start worrying that it WON"T go bad on me?

Tim, if your Honda engine goes South maybe Porsche will cut you some slack on a reman 3.6l with the powerkit package.
