Default NEED HELP ready to buy 02' 996 4s

Hallo to everyone member of this fobulous forum.
I am interesting in a grey carrera 996 4s 2002 model with 45000km in odometr.
In the morning me and the owner go to Porsche zentrum to make a PPI. The results of the PPI was all good exept a little oil leak from the right lid valves. They told me that will be the right cylinder flange. It's all ok with this car ? This oil leak drive me in the future to change the engine?

Thanks a lot for your time.......Nice people in nice forum...

oil leaks do not require new engines....

If that is the only issue with the PPI, ask the people who did it to estimate the cost of repairs to fix the leak and use that cost as a means to negotiate the price on the vehicle.

Sounds like a good owner if he/she was willing to go with on the PPI - GL with the purchase

Thanks a lot my friend. The owner of the car is a good person ,he tolde me everthing for the cars history( painting repairs, bumber changing, wind screen change ...etc) and he didn't know for that oil leak, the last service was in 35000km in Porsche dealer . Tomorow morning i am waiting a phone call from the Porsche mecanic to told me about the total repear costs so i can trade the price later.

This oil leak from right lid valves(right cylinder seals) is an often problem for the 996 3.6lit models? This motor is a bad motor?

my guess is that is it a "weep" rather than a "leak" or the owner would have known.
IMO the motors are excellent.

window can be as simple as re-teaching it or the micor-switch is out... fairly common

door lock? - what is it doing/not doing?

"(painting repairs, bumber changing, wind screen change ...etc)"

Was it in an accident?

If that is all your PPI found, reduce your offer to correspond to repairs required(which sound minor), and do the deal. GL

The car is accident free. I check it from the insurances history file, and the porsche mechanic told me that it's ok , all of this changes was from bad parking and daily drive facts. The wind sreen was from a stone in autobahn.... The only thing that doesn't look good to me is the very low kilometers , 45000km for a 2002 car and the problem with oil leak from right valve cover (the porsche tecnical charge this repair to 500 euro) .I check the ecu and the total time that the engine was working it's similar to total kilometers, but the interior looks like a car with much more kilometers.
Greek people always change the total kilometers from the odometer to trade the car for better price......it's to good to be truth.....

Got a quote today of over $1,000 USD for a valvle cover leak fix. Labor charges on these cars add up to be real high. Good luck settling on a price.
