Default Ideas for Removal of Cheesy Cassette Holders

Why did my '02 come with the cheesy cassette holders. It seems to me that at the time CDs had been the standard media for about 18 years. Any ides for better use of the space while still maintaining a stock look?

Another option is a unit that holds 4 CDs. That's what I replaced mine with.

CDs are already obsolete. If you're stuck with the CDR220, it doesn't even play MP3 CDs, so you'll need a huge binder, not just four slots.

Plug in an iPod if you want to stay stock, or ditch the OE head unit and get one that takes one of these. Holds about 1000 CDs of music at max quality.

I've got a couple of iPods but I also don't want to have to bring it to the car each time I want to listen to music. To me for short in-town trips the CD is just fine.

Now on a longer trip the iPod is a must but for just going back and forth to work I pick out my selection in the morning and away I go.

As for ditching the OE head, I would love to do that but finding a modern and relatively priced unit that looks decent in my car is a challenge.

If you have a good stereo and a critical ear, I'm not sure I would agree with that statement. I think it's still worth having the option to play them.

Yeah, i just want to get rid of that tray. I was wondering if I could find a line-in in the existing unit and place a discrete plug for necessary media. I prefer an mp3 unit that's not iPod format. My Walkman has about 400 CDs on it.
