I hope you didn't mean the Motive Power Bleeder system as what he doesn't believe in! If so...Old Schooler's do have a lot of experience, but if they get too set in their (antiquated) ways and aren't open to new developments in the industry, I'd wonder where else they're "missing the mark" when working on my car.

The Motive Power Bleeder is a pretty great development and works very well. Unless he has some multi-thousand dollar Snap-On computerized flushing system, the Motive bleeders used correctly will be a better flush than the foot-pump method, and be more preventative from getting air into your system.

Lot's of fans of the Motive on this site (and probably some haters too! )

+1 !

I used one last fall and even for a ****** like me it took 30 minutes and was so easy I couldn't believe it once I remembered to put the O ring in the cap before pumping! <red faced>

This dealer should be shot for taking advantage of people.

There had to be other work they were throwing in as well and don't tell me an inspection either...

Oh crap, I should have just kept my mouth shut!

Long story short....we were bleeding Scott's brakes and while we were BOTH at the right rear inspecting for air bubbles we hear a psssssssssssssssssssssss sound that we couldn't figure out what it was. Well, since we had the car on the lift and the lift raised to a height so we could do the brakes standing up we didn't see that the power bleeder line going into the reservoir had cracked and.....well....you can only imagine.

When Scott went to investigate the sound and saw what was happening, I'll never forget the sound of the panic in his voice that paint eating ATE super blue was spraying a fine mist all over his car. HOLY F*CK!!!!!!

Luckily we got the spray cleaned up quicker than you can imagine and promptly went to Lowe's to buy supplies to rebuild the bleeder.

Sorry Scott

geez.
These kind of stories about dealer gouging can only support the notion of going to an Indy.
