Seriously, I have the auto lock thing and like somebody else said, my passengers (ones not familiar w/ German cars) don't get it. I swear one passenger kept tugging and tugging that I swear he was going to break the handle off.

Mabuhay my wayward island brother. Page 23 of the owners manual is below.

Automatic door locking-
Your authorized Porsche dealer can program
diverse types of automatic door locking in the
control unit of the central locking system:

Type 1
Doors lock automatically when the ignition is
switched on.

Type 2
Doors lock automatically when a speed of 3 - 6
mph (5 - 10 km/h) is exceeded.

Type 3
Doors lock automatically when the ignition is
switched on. If doors are opened with the engine
running, they lock again automatically when
a speed of 3 - 6 mph (5 - 10 km/h) is exceeded.

Type 4
The doors do not lock automatically.

Note:
Automatically locked doors can be unlocked with
the central locking button or opened by pulling
on the inside door handle twice

Hey... gee... thanks... but DUH, I already knew that. Refer to the 2nd sentence of the original post. So the question from the original post was... "Can someone list what other programmable features there are?"

This way, I don't spend $150 or whatever the dealer wants to charge for ONE thing. I might as well give them a list of programmable stuff. You agree?

OR, if there's enough content/features for me to play around with, I might just buy the damn Pro Durametric so I can go nuts.

To give you an example, on the Audi:
Horn sounds when arming
Lights flash when arming
Window control with remote = Windows open and windows/roof close only when remote button is pressed for several seconds.
1 touch unlock of all 4 doors
Safety Central Locking - 1 press of unlock opens drivers door, 2nd press opens rest of doors and trunk
Auto lock/unlock of doors (Doors lock at 15 mph and unlock when key is removed)
ETC....

So what I'm looking for is the same list as above for the Porsche.

Anyone?

seriously... have you asked the dealer?

and my guess is that if all you want is one thing.... a little smooth talking the service manager (and maybe a reach around) i bet he would do it for free....

How can I know if I only want ONE thing if I don't know what the entire list looks like?

The short answer is: VAG-COM is amazing. The Porsche equivalent Durametric pales in comparison.

It's a great safety feature, makes me feel more secure (kind of like when wearing a seat belt). Who cares if your passengers don't like it. The dealer programmed mine for free, it took all of 5 minutes. Since we're on the subject, has anyone had their system set-up so that the doors don't unlock with the trunk?

Well I checked everything today - the radio is grounded, everything locks, the alarm light flashes at the correct rate. I'm wondering now if it is possible that the guy that owned the car before me (Vegas) had the alarm programmed already to beep the horn when locked with the fob?? It beeps twice and all the lights flash flash with it.

The other weird thing is I read that if your sunroof is open and you lock the doors the sunroof is supposed to slide closed, which mine doesn't. Can anyone confirm this or should I have laid off the Southern Comfort and Orange juice a bit earlier when reading the manual??
