Question Dealer Programmable Features

I believe that the dealer has the capability to "program" certain features into the car (similarly to Audi and VW).

For example, the dealer can program the car such that the doors will automatically lock when the car starts moving. Aside from that, I want the alarm to "honk" when I lock the car. Right now, it's a pain having to walk towards the front or rear to see the lights blink.

Can someone list what other programmable features there are?

Also, what do we need to program these ourselves? On the Audi, I needed a VAGCOM to do so. Is it the same for the Porsches? But where do we get the codes?

I've searched and could not find anything related except that the dealer can program the doors to lock automatically.

Anyone?

I really like the fact that the horn doesn't honk when locking (though I do think you should be given an option)

I read the dealer can program the rear wiper so it wipes front to back to back to front -eeewwwweee- lol

Thats an error honk, it means something is open or your radio is not wired up correctly.

Aftermarket radio would do it for sure, there is a fix on Renntech... if I remember you just ground a wire, I think it was brown
Did this after I installed my Double Din radio,

I made my horn honk. I like the comfirm beep. I just bush the metal latch, in the center consel, down. Now it thinks it is always open. Work great as long as you dont have a cab.

Are you sure? I have it now and it's a PITA. Every time I have a passenger in the car, we come to a stop and park, while I'm turning everything off/etc., they grab the handle to get out before I can "unlock" the doors and no workie, they can't get out. Then they look at me with this confused "why doesn't your door handle work" look. Okay, pull the handle twice, but still ..... a PITA! Okay, I'm done with the rant.

My Chevy has a profile and I can set about 15 differant things like door lock, outside perimeter lights when fob is pushed, lights flash, seat retract for exit, mirror tilt in R and others - seems simple enough to give the owner the option? - plus if I don't like it I can change it back
