Default Can't find error code P1331

I have an 02 C2 I purchased in July 09 with 44k. The CEL came on accompanied by the "drive to workshop message" so I took it to the dealer yesterday. The codes that came back were 178/P1325 and P1331. I found the P1325 description but I could not verify the P1331 code with any online sources.

Anyone ever encountered this code and the problem associated with it? The dealer says it's related to the cam actuator. I found this post which I found most informative, but no reference to P1331: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index...howtopic=24113

Thanks for your time.

Nothing in my resources. Error codes that begin with "1" are manufacturer specific and I have some info on some of the P1XXX codes but not all.

It is in the general area of codes that apply to cam timing control/sensor errors.

Why not let the dealer sort out the problem and fix it?

Sincerely,

Macster.

Thanks. Where did you find this? Any analysis of its meaning and cause/effect?

Nothing wrong with that, except perhaps the expense. I'm just trying to inform myself so I can discuss it intelligently with the tech/service manager and make smart choices. I'm a do-it-myself kind of guy and eventually I plan on doing my own service as much as possible, but I'm still new to Porsche.
