Default Spacers

I put on my winter wheels, and the offsets are slightly different than the factory wheels. Factory is ET50/ET65 F/R, and these are ET54/ET58 F/R. Widths are the same.

The rears are +7mm, and the front are -4mm. So the rears are flush with the fenders (looks great), but the fronts are tucking.

Ideally I'd like to get some 8mm spacers for the front so I can push the wheels out a bit. What brand are you guys using? And are our wheel bolts long enough that we can use them with spacers, or will I need to purchase new ones?

through 7mm you'll be fine w/ stock bolts, but in order to come anywhere close to matching the rears visually you'll need a 14 or 15mm up front to bring you to standard GT3 offset for 8.5. Most people run the H&R, but brand doesn't matter. Just make sure they are hubcentric and come with longer bolts.

Edit: missed the "winter" part, 7mm will probably work with your stock bolts. Measure to be sure

I would not attampt to use the stock lug bolts with even a 5mm spacer. While they "may" work without any problems, personally, I would not chance it.

Yeah, but these wheels are already 4mm in closer than the factory wheels, so adding a 5mm spacer should only add 1mm to the depth over the stock wheels.

If these were on stock wheels and adding a 5mm spacer, then I'd be more concerned.

Actually the offset doesn't have a truly direct correlation with the distance the lugs must travel from wheel model to wheel model.

Just measure, worst case buy longer. And guys we are talking a hair over 3/16" of spacer here

This is true, but most are similar, and I'm just trying to keep thing simple since we're talking about such a small spacer.

How many turns (or partial turns) of the lug bolt is 3/16"? Your bolt would have 3/16" less depth into the hub to hold the wheel on securely.

Like I said, it may not make a difference, but I would not want to bet my life on it. How much damage would you have to pay for if you lost a front wheel while traveling even 30 MPH? Much more than 10 new bolts would cost. Think about it......... is it worth the risk?

I have Techart spacers. They use a little different setup than H&R. Both are good.

spacers = need longer bolts
end of that story!

I have H&R 15 mm up front and POS 7mm in the rear (but they were free, Thanks Ferd ) For winter I ran 17" wheels and they looked a little funny, but drove well in snow. I didnt use spacers bacause it was just for a couple months, so I lived with the "tucked in" look

^^^^ +1 if you add 15mm spacer, you must add 15mm more on a stock bolt. Doesnt matter what size spacer, you must add the same length on the bolt.... Your welcome Ed, just passing them along, Thanks Mother
