Question do HID bulbs turn purple if they're burning out?

Tonight one of the 03 C4S headlights turned on fine, was the normal color (blue-ish) for a few seconds, then it goes to a shade of purple/violet. Is this a sign of a bulb problem (hopefully) rectified by a bulb replacement? I searched but I couldn't find anything.
Thanks guys!

I wonder if the US CPO covers such a thing... I'd imagine not... anyone know?

Im 99% Sure CPO Covers it... Call up your Dealer.

All Factory Options are Covered under CPO, and Litronic was an Option....

Wow, I'd find that amazing if it was covered under CPO. So many things aren't and bulbs are frequently excluded from post warranty coverage policies. I hope it is for you though!

Well Porsche's new CPO Policey that came into effect Jan 2009... its 2 Year Bumper to Bumper, which mean its Extended Factory Warranty... but this new Policey only applies to CPO Cars purchased as of Jan 2009 http://pfaff.porschedealer.com/The-A.../3914/news.php

Yup, sounds like the bulb will be covered by CPO - going on Friday to have it replaced - only then will I know for sure if I get charged (the service guy said he'll talk to Porsche and said he'll get it to be covered)!
