Remind me never to buy a lowered Porsche from one of you guys. I have seen everything now. Or have I? So a stock Porsche is like High off the ground? Cheese and Rice and then you wonder why the car bottoms out and you need a skid plate.

You guys should run headers then bc they sit lower and will scape first and not cover your cooling area of the pan. If an oil pan wasn't designed to keep the engine cooler then why'd they use aluminum?? They use it bc it disipates heat faster than steel and no it's not bc it will be lighter than a steel one. If you like the skid plate idea then run some vents in it like I've seen on other properly designed ones. Steel deforms a lot more than aluminum before it cracks. I'm running V3 coilovers with the car almost on the ground and fly over speed bumps with no issues. Cincinnati streets and neighborhood curbs aren't that friendly.

My car does not run noticeably hotter with the skid plate. I've had it one for almost 2 years. This also include a hot track day at willow springs.
I wouldn't worry about heat being an issue unless you lived in the desert.
That's my $0.02

Handy-dandy link to the OEM skidplate:

Also, if you think having a skid plate is going to contribute to increased engine temperatures, you need to put the crack pipe down.

Engine Protection Skid Plate

Bottom of the Turbo engine is much different. With no oil pan there is more clearance. Have you hit yours?
FVD pan
