Long wait for a 2002 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet.

I sold my 2000 C2 Cab Triple black just before the stock market crash for $29,000. Once I saw the price drop I began looking for a 2002 Carrera Cabriolet. In September I found a triple black C2 Cab in Baltimore Maryland with 8k miles. The owner had just got divorced and needed cash; he had dropped the price down to $29,000 from $33,000. I decided to drive up to Baltimore and take a look. The 911 was really clean, ran and drove great. The front end had collision work, and the paint was atlas gray metallic not black, but the condition and the drive was so good I decided to go for it. I had transferred all the money and had agreed to pick-up the Porsche on Friday. But I receive a call on Wednesday that he had sold to another buyer. Needles to say I was really upset. I thought I would never find a deal like that.
I had a couple other 911s in mind but was having problems with people trying to jack up the price, and changing advertised price. I have been only looking at triple black cab’s with full leather packages and 18’ wheels. And I was ready to fly to California to pick on up for I had flown to Illinois for my 2000 Porsche.
However three weeks later, I happened to see a triple black Cab advertise by a private owner in Annapolis Maryland for $37,000 with 23,000 miles. The advertisement could not have been there for more than a few hours. Friday morning I gave the owner a call and talked him down to $33,000 and said to me that the Porsche was loaded. I made plans to take a look at the 911 Saturday morning. But Friday I decide if this is as good as the owner was saying I would bring a certified check for $33,000 and not let this one get by.
When I got to the owner’s house he was in the driveway washing the Porsche. When I first walked over to the 911 I look through the window and not only saw the full leather package but also the supple leather seat package as well. I couldn’t believe I found these options together. Also It came with the dark wood package, Bose premium sound and CD changer, heated seats with full power and lumbar, upgrade xenon with washers. This was too good to be true, she truly was loaded. I took a walk around the Porsche and saw all original paint with only one small door ding and a paint chip and no oil leaks.
I asked the owner if he had any more calls, and he told me he had a couple of calls but ignored them. We went to take the Porsche for a ride and I said “you have to give me a reason not to buy this Porsche”. The Porsche drove as good as it looked and I was sold, and closed the deal that day.
I am now back in a Triple Black 2002 Porsche Carrera Cabriolet C2. I just love the drive. It has all the desired options and more. The original invoice and all books were included, priced at over $91,000. The Invoice showed that the Bose option was $3,445. The Bose demo CD had not even been opened which was included; the owner said he never played the CD. After playing the CD, I was convinced that the Bose system alone was worth the extra money. Going over the 2002 Porsche revealed a higher quality than my 2000 and the 3.6 gave noticeable more horse power. The supple leather seats are also heaver grade leather than stock. This one is a keeper; it’s good to be back driving a Porsche.

Thanks,
Chris

18” OEM light weight Titanium GT3 Look. These were not my first chose but definitely getting use to them. They look even better in person.

"wait where did the millenium badge go from pic to pic -"

Starting modifications: Garage door switch, spoiler switch, 911 badge, lower seat.
Major tune-up: S-Belt, plugs, trans/eng/oil, air filter … polish exhaust tips/ wheels, polish paint, leather detail.

Nice! Enjoy it.

I never thought they put full leather in a cab, wouldn't the sun be murder on the black interior?

Trick to keeping leather is leather conditioner every month. Also, I just installed European clear side markers, looks great.
