Default Finally - pics of my new car!

Thanks everyone for helping me with my purchase.
Here are some pics of her taken today.

Took her out to her first road trip today. Temperature was perfect for a top down drive with my wife. I will post some observations in a separate thread.

In short - the car is just AWESOME. nothing like I've ever owned before.
Coming from a staunch BMW and Mercedes family - I didn't ever imagine how big the gap is between them and Porsche.

Porsche - There is no substitute.

Yes - ultimately although I would have loved the stick, I found the tip very easy to use with very very fast response times. In full auto I felt like it was always in the right gear, but in manual mode, and dealing with on ramps and off ramps - it was plenty responsive enough for my needs.

Driving home yesterday the traffic was stop and go for about 3 miles - and the auto mode was REALLY convenient....

Anyway here is what I have found with this car in the past week of driving in town and out in the country:

1. Normally docile drivers that would never harass me in the BMW want to race me or tail gate me. WTF is up with that? And I don't mean the Acura Integra's or Honda Civics - it is the Camry, mini van, Ford Taurus etc etc.

2. Guys with dates in their cars will pull 2 car lengths behind or in front of me @ stop lights - weird.

3. I enjoy moving over to let someone tail gating me pass me, and then flick into 3rd gear and effortlessly build speed and move back over to the left lane.

4. I can have a really crappy day at the office - but getting in this thing and driving home makes everything better again.

5. It attracts dings and nicks like a magnet :-(

Thanks - btw what are the subtle exterior features that distinguish MkI from MkII?

Some are subtle and some are not. The biggest difference is the headlights. More subtle are the aero tweaks front and rear. The blue one below is a Mk. I and the silver is a Mk. II.

Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the club.
