Very pretty car and great colors!! Why does the hood not look properly lined up?

Another vote in favor of the dark blue with tan interior.

Where are you located, you can add it in your profile....

Congrats and enjoy!

Ahh yes - good catch. I had not closed the hood fully when I took the pic...

Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the club.
I found the press release on the updates on the MkII:

"(from Porsche Press Release) Porsche has significantly enhanced the 911 Carrera models for 2002, their fourth model year, giving them a larger, more powerful engine and a new look inspired by the 911 Turbo. The line includes the 911 Carrera Coupe and Cabriolet and the all-wheel drive 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet. A new version of the 911 Carrera 4 Coupe will be released later in the model year. While keeping their unmistakable 911 profile, the 2002 models adopt the headlight design of the 911 Turbo, plus a newly shaped front end, widened rear quarter panels, and redesigned oval exhaust tailpipes.

All models benefit from a strengthened body structure, which enhances handling, ride quality and safety. The design changes benefit performance, increasing airflow to the radiators by 15 percent and reducing aerodynamic lift on both the front and rear suspension. The Bi-Xenon gas-discharge headlights that are standard on the 911 Turbo are a new option for the 911 Carrera models.

Porsche enlarged the displacement of the six-cylinder boxer engine in the 911 Carrera models to 3.6 liters from 3.4 liters and increased horsepower to 320 from 300. Peak torque increases to 273 lb.-ft. at 4,250 rpm from 258 lb.-ft. at 4,600 rpm, and the torque curve is now broader overall for enhanced response at all speeds. The new VarioCam® Plus valve timing and lift system – similar to that used on the 911 Turbo – helps boost torque. Porsche optimized suspension tuning for the enhanced performance, and new-design Carrera II 17-inch alloy wheels reduce unsprung weight.

The 911 Carrera models gain new seatbelt pretensioners and load limiters. A three-spoke sports steering wheel replaces the previous four-spoke wheel, and the center vents have also been redesigned. The remote entry system now controls memory function when the optional power seats are ordered. A new optional Bose® digital sound system replaces previous sound system upgrades. The newly standard onboard computer uses an LCD screen in the tachometer to display information including fuel consumption and driving range, engine oil level, outside temperature and 35 different warning messages in plain text. New exterior colors include Black, Basalt Black Metallic and Carrera White."

Ok - EXCELLENT catch!!! I had a persistent wind noise at above 70mph.
I took it to a body shop and immediately the guy said the hood is not lined up right (left side sat a little high). He had to adjust the actual latch mechanism on the car behind the bumper and voila - all wind noise is gone!

Congrats!

Your right there are few cars that evoke a response like that (challenges/tailgating) but if I was a "minivan warrior" I'd be envious too

With a car like this you've got nothing to prove, just put the roof down and enjoy the ride with the wind in your hair, the sun on your face and a grin from ear to ear (although that will **** people off even more ).

Welcome to the nut house.

Cheers,

Sid.

Wow! That is an absolutely striking color combo. Love it!

The interior looks darker/more orange than Savannah - is that my imagination??

Your ride is awesome (I think I bought the same thing in Guards Red a month ago, minus leather dash and white gauges). I am uber-jealous that you've gotten some top-down time in. I've not had that luxury in mine yet as we've had crap weather here in the 'Ville.

In regards to the your family having been a BMW and Benz house, I recently had to get my 330ci (for sale) out so someone could test drive it. I drove it around the block and it felt loose and weak in comparison to the Pcar.
