Unknown. They were installed on the seats when purchased. If/when I got with harnesses, I will see if I can find out the manufacturer

You certainly loose I'd say ~25# per side. I put my seats up on my storage rack in the garage and that was no fun carrying those heavy SOBs up the ladder.
You should make one in to an office chair. I'm sure someone could fab a mount that would attach to the seat so it wouldn't ruin the seat. I've always wanted to do that, but haven't upgraded the seats in any of my rides.

+1 for the office chair.

I love those seats. Think they look cool, feel nice when u sit in them, but they are a pain in the *** to get in and out of. I wish someone would cut away a portion of the entry/exit side, or they would beef up the padding on that part.

your mods are all very well done. looking forward to seeing how you like the seats, esp at the DE

Im thinking of getting the Recaro Sportster CS seats (as a cheaper GT2 alternative) so I can retain access to the back seat for my young son.

Yep; there are already many places that do that kind of work. I'll likely keep my stock seats unchanged though.

I agree, but I’m sure I’ll get used to it like anything else. I’m trying to take an extra couple seconds getting in and out so as not to rub too much on that bolster.

re: DE; Same here; should be a night and day difference. I saw your post; those look very nice; will be interested in hearing how they work out.

Looks good. Red seat belts would compliment then nicely.

Took about a 30min round trip today and wow, a much more direct experience. More sounds, more feeling, and freeway on and off ramps are a new kind of fun. Its sounds cliche, but they really do transform the experience.

Hard to believe how much better it is, like you said

Can you itemize charges for seats, installation, a bar for the seatbelts (not a full roll bar) and the belts themselves? Just curious what we'd be in for?

I'm assuming your question was directed at me?
  • Seats [used]; $3000
  • Roll/Harness; $0; none currently installed
  • Installation; $0; DIY
  • Belts; $0; using stock belts
