Yes, D2. 130k miles and daily driver. Motor runs like a top but I am slowly working through the PO's neglected items. With the difference in the heights of the vehicles I thought the 911 was going to be harder to get under and have much smaller spaces to work in. Not completely true. It would take too much time and space to compare and contrast the vehicles since they are so different. But I do love transitioning between the Disco and the 996. The driving experiences are, naturally, polar opposites. For example, the Disco feels like you are sitting ON it while you are definitely sitting IN the 911.

So I'm almost ashamed to admit this, but I did notice other threads with people having a similar issue during my research, so hopefully this helps. I've had the car about 2 months and just yesterday realized how the auto up/down feature works on the windows and sunroof. On all of my other cars you'd either have to push the button down an extra click, or press and hold for a second to activate it. It never worked for me and I read about 'resetting' it by holding the button two seconds after the window is down, etc. However, on this car you just do a quick click and release. Same with the sunroof. They all work perfect, just need a quick click.

So I feel like a moron but I learned today if you leave something wet in your car and come back 12 hours later, whatever was wet will be dry but all the moisture will be on the inside of your windshield!

If you quickly double click the lock when you "arm" the alarm, it inactivates the motion sensor inside the car so the movement of the sunshade will not set it off. At least on my 2003.

Yep, technically speaking this works, but dang it is hard to get that double click timing down right!

Being my very first post...
As soon as my Viper is sold, I want a 01 or 02 Turbo BADLY!!!
Never knew much about them as wasn't ever a "Porsche guy." Yet, here I am and can't wait to buy one! This is a great thread for a "noob" in the Porsche world.

I could program the seat and mirror to dip, but I always had to manually return the mirror back ? PIA so reprogram to eliminate the mirror dipping.

OK, no problem with programming all to work, the problem is once I am done backing up and going forward in gear the mirror does not return to normal position and I have to reset the mirror while driving.

I've got the same issue John. Durametric shows a potentiometer fault on that mirror on mine. I just haven't gotten around to chasing it, and generally struggle with electronic type issues.
