Now where's that manual... top is stuck.

I do suggest getting codes read first. Calibration requires PST2 or PIWIS. It is possible the SmartTop came loose, so reinstalling it might help...you will probable need to do a soft reset after re-install (battery disconnect). So here are the other possibilities:
hydraulic fluid
control unit (or not)
latching mechanism (I doubt it)
other miscellaneous post with lots of links....from yours truly
The last thing I remember is can you observe whether the side flaps move?

Here's one:
Why did the Aggie drown in the bed of a pick-up truck when it went into the Ocean?
He couldn't get the tailgate open.
Sorry......that was really bad.

Rob, my guess is low hydraulic fluid.
To keep the Texas A&M Aggie jokes going:
Why are there zero suicides at A&M?
You can't kill yourself jumping out of a basement window!

Riad,
I've had my top act up when the Smart top module worked its way loose. I think you should start by checking that. I made a point of cinching the velcro strap down really tight and it seems to have solved the problem.

Well the top seems to have worked itself out. Works fine now.
The one thing I did notice is when the rear deck lid goes up and back there's a rubber seal on the bottom, it seems I lost two little clips that keep the rubber on. It may have jammed at one point when closing.
So after not being able to get it up, it finally seems like it's a rubber problem.
Ugh, I need to get out more.

The clips are needed because the rubber is around 10' long.
And there are many other reasons for you to give condolences to my wife.

Weird...
If you manually lifted the clamshell, and it didn't go back down by itself....
1) make sure the manual crank you used...screw need to be all the way out (nearly)..if not the clamshell doesn't move.
2) Keep an eye on the clamshell motor..it's directly attached to where you did the manual crank.
The hydraulic fluid only affects the actual top moving up and down and not he clamshell.
Glad it worked out though .
