Default Regrets - my 99' 996 C4 Tip will be going up for sale...

Very nice, very fast and reliable. Litronics, rear wiper. 55K miles, reman installed at 54K miles (have receipts). Very original condition, body straight, original paint- very cold a/c. Original rims with Conti tires in 80% condition. Only has one remote key, has manuals, brand new OE floor mats from Sunset (dealer). Windshield not pitted. It currently has clear sides, Sprint Booster (SB) and the little knurled aluminum hold-downs for the under-hood pollen flter cowling. Has brand new battery. The clears and SB will be removed before sale unless negotiated. If I were going to keep it, I would do this:

LCA and/or sway bar bushings (very s-l-i-g-h-t front end rattle noise over VERY smooth surfaces with tar strips at parking lot speeds. No noise at highway speeds over any bumps, etc.) My own assessment is LCA - ???

fuel level sender (needle falls to zero ocassionally for no apparant reason)

cigarette lighter will not stay pushed in - I have not checked yet to see if the lighter socket is getting power or not.

This is a heads-up right now in case you know someone looking for a reliable 996 with a new engine. Keep in mind the current reman cost is $14-$15K not including R&R - so in actuality, the car is a very decent deal. I have not taken a good set of photos yet but will do so soon as well as better advertisement wording, option codes, etc.

Asking price will be $24,900. This is not a rushed sale - car will be garaged & driven ocassionally until it moves. I will be happy to help you coordinate a PPI at your shop of choice here in N. VA

Part it out. The market for these cars is so bad that people can get the whole car for next to nothing, better parting it out.

YOu know - that's not a bad thought.

How much can I get for the engine?

Tranny???

Complete body sans engine and tranny?

Is there a market for that stuff???
