I'm no expert, but if you do the deep-sump kit, then don't you also have to lower the oil pickup and raise the baffle walls by the same amount? Otherwise the deep sump by itself could potentially make the oil starvation issue even worse, right? I remember reading that here somewhere. Please correct me if I am wrong.

The deep sump kit comes with an extension for the pick-up. Check out Flat-6 on you-tube for videos.
