Yep, I had some time (well some errands to run as well) last weekend and finally got a chance to get some seat time. I REALLY enjoyed being able to 'spirit' it a bit instead of just DD duties.

Glad you like yours and yeah, I can't find any faults with mine either. I love my 996!

I love the look of the C4S - but I wish they made a version that had the look but not the weight of the all-wheel drive system. Sort of like the C2S on the 993 series.

Its doable I've heard, like what the turbo guys have done, remove the front diff, but unless you are tracking the car, and can exploit the potential of the stock car, I don't think its a big deal. I certainly don't think its exploitable on the street, at least not safely.

Keep in mind, were talking about a cab here, not a track beast.

I'm also of the opinion that I think people tend to over exaggerate the impact on street driving. ZOMG the C4S is a pig! Its heavier than the C2, of course, but in an of itself the diff is not a buzz kill. My front diff certainly didn't keep me form having a blast on the track a couple weeks ago!

YMMV, JMHO, 0.02, etc. etc.

True...In the grand scheme of things we're probably talking the weight of another passenger in terms of the difference. And I've only driven one C4 and that was a 1990 model which still felt like a rear-drive car so the impact on driving experience is probably minimal until you need it to get you out of trouble or pull you out of a corner on the track.

So I stand corrected!

Glad you're so happy with your car - I've had my 996 for almost 2 years, and I love it more every time I drive it!

Coming up on a year of ownership. Almost 13k smile filled daily driven miles. Cannot think of anything else that would make me forget about the morning commute.

I have had mine about a month as well. The more I drive it the more I love it! Man, I can't believe how fun, easy to drive, and quick the thing is. I can't find the words to express myself about this car...

I drove between 2 buildings this afternoon and there was no one around so I hit the gas (only like 15-20 mph) and the sound of that machine (with my 3.6 PSE Hack cans) is to die for!!!

Love it !

Haha - I do that as well. And I also try it in my garage (like a kid going vroom vroom!) at times too. The exhaust sound is pretty damn awesome
