Default Exhuast and headers

So I am mid stream in a project and I thought I would share a few pics and some info.

My car was dyno'd recently:
dynojet
with stock exhaust, DME, LWFW, BBS E88, 4:1 R&P
360 hp to the wheels SAE corrected
275 lb ft

Here is the stock exhaust weighing in at a reported 100 lbs

Here is most of the new set up in all 321 stainless -- less the tips etc

on the car sans mufflers and tips

thanks to RLer GREYGT3 I have a flashed DME applicable to LWFW exhaust and headers -- flashed by RS tuning

Thanks to local shop Speedware, I have a carbon kevlar 996 Cup rear bumper with center exit.

The guys at ASP are going to finish up the exhaust and get it back to the dyno and we are hoping for 390+ to the wheels using the flashed DME and the new header/exhaust set up.

I will update when I have more info about the new set up.

Looks very nice. What was the design objective? Maximize torque? hp?

Estimated cost?

Thanks,
Mike

No -- you may be thinking of Achtuning... not them.
ASP is Advanced Street Performance -- partners in the business are Stefan and Charles. Charles has worked for Barrier and Gerber and is now out on his own with Stefan... their shop is in Kent.

Will do once I hear it! I expect it to be a bit louder but hopefully not obnoxiously loud.

Thanks,

Design objective -- more of everything of course
it will be extensively dyno'd and I will update this thread accordingly.
Cost -- I have a budget and Charles is aware of it... once it is completed, if it does what it is supposed to do and I have proof via dyno sheets and sound clips etc, then Charles and Stefan will be marketing the system. I am getting a bit of a break as I am the guinea pig. If they go through with their plans they will market a 304 stainless version and a 321 stainless version... the one in the pictures is 321 stainless.

Looks great! I'm glad to see that someone is still developing parts for these "old cars". Also, what are the advantages of a center exit system and will it be cat-less?

As an additional corollary, what center exhaust bumper covers are available for the 6gt3?
thanks,
Mike

cup, the only real issue with center exhaust for the 996 is you lose rear impact protection for the engine and exhaust. The bumperettes do have a function.

you are right... I am working on a solution
Of course you can order the euro GT3 "crash bar" to replace the US one... but that is effectively a US one with the bumprettes cut off cleanly.

OT sort of -- expected weight savings is 65-70 lbs by swapping out the exhaust

Is that a reverse cone at the end of the megaphone or just a tail pipe ring?

100 cell cats -- not in the pictures
they will be part of the system

advantages to center exit -- less material needed (according to my tech) and it looks better in my opinion.

I think just a tail pipe ring... if you want I can PM you the tech's tel #... I am not a very technical person but I can write checks

Tech has been on me for over a year to get this going and he finally conviced me so I gave him some money and listened to all his technical explanations etc.. but I sort of tune out a little bit when it gets over my head.

PJ,
Oh baby, looks like it is coming along well. The details and design looks great. Should fulfill your performance requirements.

what about the other exhausts available did not float your boat? The are at least 4 or 5 that have Porsche racing experience. I guess I do not have the temperament to have someone experimenting at this time in the cars history. Maybe in 2004 or 5.
