Yeah it's official...I love my car!!!
It’s been a little over a month now since I took that leap of faith and purchased a 02 996 Cabrio. Well I just had to tell everyone for the record, that this car is everything I hoped it would be and more!
As much as I enjoyed my 944 this car is superior in every way for performance, comfort, and engine sound The car continues to surprise me with the handling and acceleration it has in store. And even being seven years old it still feels and looks like a new vehicle.
It’s also the talk of my neighborhood as the PSE let’s everyone know when I’m coming and going. Although I do have a neighbor with a 2001 with aero and PSE but doesn’t use it as a daily driver.
I detailed it this weekend spending five hours with my Griots random orbital and an abundance of other products. It’s a relief to see it clean after it raining here for almost a month straight. Regardless of what others say, I think this car has a very striking exterior. It may not scream old-school 911 but it is still quite attractive IMO.
So for anyone on the fence, don’t listen to the haters out there. Go and drive one yourself…If you want classic look, feel, and smell then this car may not be for you. But if you’re looking for a great interpretation of a classic that can play many roles for you then a 996 is the bargain of the decade!

Nope she's actually the one who encouraged me to get it since I was spending so much time keeping my 944 road-worthy!
Plus I've had a P-car and my dog since before we met - so she knows she can't touch either of them...

Nice to hear from another 996 'convert', glad your Porsche hits all the right buttons. I couldn't agree more...you cannot find a better bargain if you're looking for Porsche.

Great post. After losing out on two C4S & a flaky seller on oner 04, I'm seriously considering a cab as well. My wife who usually doesn't have an opinion on the cars I've brought home actually likes an 02 cab that I showed her. She can't drive stick so I don't have to worry about her "stealing" for the day.
