Question Do I need to change both tires?

Hey guys!

I got a hole in one of my front tire last night, when I parked the car I heard air whining out, so I bet its a hole.

Anyways do I need to change both front tires as Im sure I wont get the same tire pattern as they were bought in USA.

Yes. In addition to having two new tires with the same tread pattern, they will also have the same amount of tread depth.

Take it to a tire shop, see if they can plug it. I had a tiny framing nail puncture my right rear sometime yesterday and it patched up fine for $25.

Try to make it a reputable shop though, the guys I went to (right next to where I work) tried to screw me a few different ways before I left.

Tech 1: "Oh no sir, we can't plug that tire, you're going to need a whole new set."
Tech 2 (nearby but not working on my car): "What are you talking about, a plug in that will work fine."
Tech 1: *Glares at Tech 2*

Tech 1: "Here's your receipt"
Me: "I told you I don't have TPMS, why did you charge me for TPMS servicing?"
Tech 1: "Oh my, let me just take that off!"

Me: "Checked my pressure at 28psi, can you guys get it up to 44psi for me?"
Service Manager: "You don't want it that high."
Me: "No, I do, it's recommended in the owner's manual."
SM: "Well that's probably the max allowable, you don't want that."
Continue this for 5 minutes until a tech tells me to swing by the open bay and he'll fill it.

Wonder what those guys would say if I told them to inflate my pickup's tires to 75 PSI like it says to.

Hey Van,

The car works fine, havent had any issues with it.

Only one thing after I installed coilovers and swaybars, I get freaking tweaking sound as hell from the front of the car, sounds it comes from the towers, not sure if its the coilovers and should they sound so much?

+1 on this.

If your tires are pretty new(aka < 1K miles), then you can get away with swapping 1 out. Just make sure it's EXACTLY the same product....if that is even possible for you as you stated.

I've had a rear plugged with no issues.... in fact I had the opposite experience as Dave.

I went into my local tire shop with a new rear tire in hand (I'd gotten a screw in my tire) and they looked at the tire on the car and told me to put the tire away as they could plug... the sign of a good place is when they save you money. That rear tire sat in my basement for another 18 months until the rears needed changing out.

I have been successful in plugging and if that's not enough, putting an innertube inside the problem tire. Always try to match with the other,--perhaps putting an innertube in the other one as well.

Tire plug kit from AutoZone: less than $20.

If you can change your own oil or swap brake pads, then you can plug a tire. It really is that easy. I got tired of the morons at Discount Tire Co telling me that I needed to buy new tires when they could clearly be patched (or plugged). If the tire has a nail (or screw) and it's nowhere near the sidewall, then it could be plugged. Not wanting the liability is one thing, but trying to get rich off of me is another.

There should be no sound - seems like something is rubbing.

I've got the X74, and it does not make any noise.

Okey guys, Ive been at a tire shop and they fixed the hole for 30 bucks. My first reaction was wtf he was doing when he made the hole twice as big as it was, but I guess thats how u do it =)

Van, Yeah I think its my freaking coilovers that make the sound, its like a rubber squicky sound.

I will make video to show when I have some time.
