That $16K for the engine (reman) is probably from a dealer that is not discounting. Sunset or Suncoast would probably save a couple of thousand. Jake, are you still in the range of $15K to rebuild with Nikkies, etc. sounds like your price is becoming more attractive all the time.

Jake... I understand you can make a 3.4 to a 3.6 essentially making it a 350 hp motor... what kind of warranty coverage do you provide?

Default Used 996 Engine...

Can someone tell me what the market is for a very good 3.6L engine? 63,000 miles, burns no oil, no oil drips, include all the accessories less the sensors and muffler. I don't think the engine has had an IMS update.

Thanks,

Tough question and maybe better to start a new thread. You may get a lot of wild guesses and opinions. My guess is $6000. A used motor is a gamble for a buyer. Vehicle history and service records will no doubt be considered. What year vehicle? Who removed the motor and why? Tell us a bit more. My guess is based on a couple salvaged motors my uncle purchased for a race car.

Bill, can you look at the serial number and see if it is in fact "new" or just a reman?

Bill posted this in May of 2009...I'd be willing to bet he no longer has this engine.
